Alia Bhatt reveals Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s global journey has inspired her, praises Shreya Ghoshal, Kate Winslet, Taylor Swift and Kareena Kapoor Khan

Alia Bhatt, who recently dazzled at the MET Gala in a stunning floral Sabyasachi saree, revealed her sources of inspiration and admiration in her interview with Harper’s Bazaar India. This marked her second appearance at the prestigious event, where she continues to make waves with her style and presence.
When asked about the cultural icons who inspire her work and life choices, Alia expressed admiration for a diverse range of personalities, both Indian and international.She praised Kate Winslet for her remarkable range, lauded popstar Taylor Swift for her ability to translate personal experiences into heartfelt music and spoke highly of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her trailblazing journey that took Indian cinema to global heights at a time when such aspirations were rare.
“I admire Kate Winslet for her incredible range and resilience, and Taylor Swift, who turns every experience into heartfelt music. I feel inspired by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who chartered her own course and took her journey global when no one was even thinking about it,” she said.

Among her fellow Bollywood peers, Alia expressed admiration for Kareena Kapoor Khan, whom she described as iconic in every aspect. She also mentioned playback singer Shreya Ghoshal for elevating every song she sings with her impeccable vocals, bringing depth and emotion to the music.
When asked about how she is getting prepared for the next few years in the industry, Alia said that she envisions herself continuing to push into new creative territories, aiming to engage with the audience on deeper levels. Her goal has always been to challenge herself, refusing to settle into comfort zones, and instead, delving deep within to contribute more to her characters. The legacy she hopes to build is one of meaningful, memorable roles that not only entertain but also provoke thought and inspire change.

On the work front, Alia will be seen in Vasan Bala’s Jigra, which is co-produced by Karan Johar and Alia herself. The film is all set to hit theatres on September 27, this year. She is also set to play the lead in a Spy Universe film, with filming scheduled to kick off later this year. She was last seen in Gal Gadot starrer Heart of Stone, which marked her acting debut in Hollywood.
