The horror-comedy Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has seen a remarkable surge in its box office collection on Sunday. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, outperformed its opening day earnings on day 4, with nearly 70 percent occupancy in theaters.
According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 is expected to collect around Rs 55 crore by the end of its fourth day, bringing its total earnings to Rs 190.55 crore. The movie is rapidly approaching the Rs 200 crore mark within its first week, which is an impressive feat for the franchise.
Also featuring Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, Stree 2 hit theaters across the country on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day.

A good comparison for the film’s performance is with KGF 2 (Hindi), which was also released on a Thursday and saw massive success in the Hindi-speaking regions. However, unlike Stree 2, KGF 2 didn’t manage to surpass its opening day numbers on Sunday, despite having a holiday release—though Independence Day is considered a bigger holiday compared to the one KGF 2 had.
Stree 2 continues the story of the main characters who, after solving the mystery of the female ghost in the first film, now face a new supernatural threat—a ghost known as Sarkata, who only has a head.

The movie is part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s expanding horror-comedy universe, which also includes films like Bhediya and Munjya.
