Various religious organisations and representatives of 90 labour and public associations submitted a petition to Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath on Tuesday, requesting the establishment of a 25-bed AYUSH research hospital on a 16-cent plot, belonging to the AYUSH department, in Nandigama.
Vasireddy Prasad, president of Ex-Servicemen’s Association, former AYUSH medical officer Kapa Bhanu Prasad, K.V.R College’s former principal Vasireddy Satyanarayana Prasad and Pensioners’ Association president Patcha Umamaheshwara Gupta submitted the signed petition, along with a letter from Nandigama MLA Tangirala Sowmya.
In the petition, the representatives said AYUSH medical systems such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Homoeopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Buddhist medical system ‘Sowarigpa’ should be brought under one umbrella and that the benefits should reach the people of Nandigama and surrounding areas through the AYUSH grid.
Responding positively to their petition, Mr. Sivanath said he would discuss the proposal with the Chief Minister, the State Health department and the local MLA. He assured them that estimates concerning the project would be prepared after consulting AYUSH officials and the same would be submitted to the Central AYUSH department.
