Priyanka Chopra Jonas, known for her impressive body of work both as an actress and producer, is gearing up for the theatrical release of her Marathi filmPaani‘ on October 18. The film, produced under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures, holds a special place in her heart, as she recently shared on Instagram.
In an Instagram post, Priyanka unveiled the motion poster of ‘Paani’ and expressed her excitement.She captioned the post, “This is very very special. Our Marathi feature film ‘Paani’ is all set to release theatrically on 18th October.” This marks yet another milestone in Priyanka’s journey as a producer, highlighting her commitment to telling compelling regional stories.

Directed by Adinath Kothare, ‘Paani’ delves into the life of an ordinary man living in Nagderwadi, a drought-stricken village in Nanded, Maharashtra. The film captures his relentless efforts to make his village self-sufficient in water, despite the numerous challenges he faces along the way. The narrative is a poignant reflection on the importance of water conservation and the struggles faced by communities in water-scarce regions.
‘Paani’ features a talented cast, including Subodh Bhave, Kishore Kadam, Adinath Kothare, and Rucha Vaidya. The film, originally released in 2019, garnered widespread acclaim, including a National Film Award for Best Film on Environment Conservation. This recognition underscores the film’s impactful message and the significance of its environmental theme.

Beyond her role in ‘Paani’, Priyanka Chopra has been actively engaged in various other projects. She has just completed shooting for her upcoming film, ‘The Bluff’, under the direction of Frank E. Flowers. Set against the backdrop of the 19th-century Caribbean Islands, this adventurous drama features Priyanka as a former pirate who is fiercely committed to safeguarding her family while confronting the ghosts of her past. The movie also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Vedanten Naidoo, and was filmed in the stunning landscapes of Australia.
In addition to ‘The Bluff’, Priyanka is preparing for the second season of the spy action thriller ‘Citadel’. The Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel’, titled ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, features Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu and is set to premiere on November 7.
