With only 5 days to go for the release of Nag Ashwin’s futuristic mythological sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD, the box office is all primed to record massive numbers in North America ( United States Of America and Canada). The North American market has become one of the biggest markets for Indian films outside the country over the past few years, thanks to films like Bahubali series, KGF franchise, Jawan, Animal etc.
Kalki 2898 AD which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, has already crossed the magical US $ 2 million mark in premiere day sales in North America. In fact, the current total collection of the film stands at US $ 2.2 million of which US $ 2 million is from America alone, selling nearly 66,000 tickets while the rest is coming in from Canada. The film is now gunning to be in the top two lists of highest grossing premiere day sales in the circuit after SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan’s RRR with US $ 2.75 million and Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire with US $ 2.3 million.
