Hours before the debate tonight, former first lady Melania Trump dropped a video on her social media handles talking about the assassination attempt on her husband Donald Trump. It was a promotional video for her memoir to be released on October 8. The memoir is about her life but the promotions that she has been dropping are all about Donald Trump — with whom her marriage has always been under the scanner.
In the first video, Kamala Harris spoke about the 2020 election and the attempt to silence her husband. In the latest video, she spoke about the assassination attempt on the former president. “The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience. Now the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech. There’s definitely more to this story. And we need top uncover the truth,” Melania said.

This is not the first time that Melania spoke about the assassination attempt on July 13. She issued a length statement condemning the attack and thanking the law enforcement for protecting her husband. Trump later revealed that Melania watched the attack live and could not speak about it. “When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change,” she said. “I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband.”
Melania’s insinuation is based on reports that Thomas Matthew Crooks — the 20-year-old who shot at Donald Trump and was gunned down — was able to evade the security and open fire on the president.
Melania Trump has been accused of being distant from Trump at his re-election bid triggering rumors that all is not well in their marriage. The former first lady is rarely seen at Trump campaign events and was not present at the CNN debate. She is unlikely to be present at the ABC debate tonight either.
