Kareena Kapoor Khan graced the Dada Saheb Phalke Awards looking like royalty in a glamorous multi-kali anarkali designed by couturiers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Kareena who won the Best Actress Critics Award for her role in the movie Jaane Jaan, walked the red carpet in a champagne couture piece adorned with over 110000 mirrors.
Styled by celebrity stylist Rhea Kapoor, the styling exuded grace and glamour in the modern interpretation of the classic Indian silhouette. Looking like an absolute vision in the anarkali crafted by 100 artisans, Kareena took to Instagram to share a series of images. Elated to have won an award, she captioned the post as: “Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award Jaane Jaan forever.”
Featuring magnificent 60 panels, the asymmetrical multi-kali blooms are crafted in Chanderi cotton. Kareena paired the anarkali with pants, a mirror pauncha and an organza stole. Featuring a deep neckline and an asymmetrical silhouette, Kareena carried off the elaborate couture piece with elan. The intricate mirror embroidery sparkled as she posed for the media on the red carpet.
Kareena is the epitome of grace and elegance when it comes to Indian silhouettes, the designs she adorns always celebrate Indian craftsmanship with a hint of drama. In this case, the asymmetrical pattern and lavishly embroidered outfit featuring minute mirrors added sparkle and shine to her overall classic look. Kareena’s flawless and glamorous makeup was done by Pompy Hans and Savleen Kaur Manchanda. She completed the look with fine jewellery pieces including a necklace and ring.
