American pop hitmaker Jason Derulo and Ireland’s seasoned pop band The Script are set to make their India debut as headliners at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Shillong on Nov. 14, 2025.
While headliners for day two (Nov. 15, 2025) of the festival and additional acts are yet to be announced, the news was shared on World Music Day, June 21, by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma at the Lariti Auditorium.
The festival, which has hosted the likes of Akon, Bonny M’s Maizie Williams, Ronan Keating, Ne-Yo, and more at previous editions, will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Polo Grounds on Nov. 14 and 15, 2025. Tickets are expected to go on sale at the end of June, according to a festival press release.
The Cherry Blossom Festival marks the first-ever festival performance by Derulo in India. His most recent connection to India was his collaboration with India-based actor, singer and dancer Nora Fatehi on the song “Snake” earlier this year. Derulo was in the country to promote the song, but the “Talk Dirty” hitmaker is now giving fans a long-anticipated live show, complete with a 15-member dance crew.
The press release adds, “Known for his explosive stage presence and masterful dance routines, Derulo is celebrated as one of the Top 10 male singers of all time who can dance, fusing vocals and choreography like few others in the world.”
Co-headlining on day one with Derulo are The Script, who shot to fame globally (including India) after the release of their debut self-titled album in 2008, with songs like “Breakeven” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.” The band’s guitarist Mark Sheehan passed away in 2023 after a brief illness, but The Script have since powered on, releasing their latest album Satellites in 2024. In addition to founding members Danny O’Donoghue on vocals and Glen Power on drums, The Script has longtime touring member and bassist Benjamin Sargeant (now a full-time member) and guitarist Ben Weaver rounding out the lineup.
The festival—supported by Meghalaya Tourism—also aims to curate a more immersive overall experience. A press release says Cherry Blossom Festival is promising “the inclusion of RFID LED wristbands for every ticket holder—a concept made famous by Coldplay—creating a synchronized light show and unifying the audience experience.”
