As the IPL 2026 retention and mini-auction window approaches, a blockbuster trade deal is in motion involving Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sam Curran. RR will receive both Jadeja and England all-rounder Sam Curran in the deal, with Samson heading in the opposite direction to CSK ahead of the IPL retentions on Saturday, November 15. The deal is official before the auction.
Senior all-rounder and former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja is set to represent Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the upcoming IPL season after a confirmed trade between the two franchises. Jadeja, who has served CSK for 12 seasons and featured in over 250 IPL matches, will join RR at a revised league fee of INR 14 crore, down from his previous INR 18 crore.

Rajasthan Royals skipper and India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson will move to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as part of the trade. He will continue with his existing salary of INR 18 crore. Samson, one of the league’s most seasoned performers with 177 matches, will join his third IPL franchise. Since debuting in 2013, he has played the majority of his career with RR, apart from two seasons (2016–17) with Delhi Capitals.
Sam Curran
England all-rounder Sam Curran will also head to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) from CSK at his current league fee of INR 2.4 crore. The 27-year-old has played 64 IPL games so far and will be joining his third franchise. Curran previously represented Punjab Kings in 2019, 2023, and 2024, and played the rest of his seasons with CSK.

After the conclusion of IPL 2025, the Chennai Super Kings made their interest in Sanju Samson unmistakably clear. With Dhoni approaching the twilight of his illustrious career, Samson saw a rare chance to learn from him and gradually step into a leadership role within a franchise known for shaping champions. At the same time, years of carrying the weight of expectations at Rajasthan Royals, coupled with internal challenges, had taken their toll. Samson felt the moment was right for a fresh chapter. CSK’s well-structured system, deep-rooted culture, and long-term roadmap made the decision straightforward once the opportunity arose.
