Pretty Crazy, a quirky romantic comedy starring popular Korean actors Im Yoon-ah (Yoona of Girls’ Generation) and Ahn Bo-hyun is slated to release in August 2025, though the official release date is yet to be announced.
And in case the movie title didn’t already tip you off, things get pretty crazy. It all starts when a regular guy-next-door runs into an enigmatic woman in his building one fateful night, a chance encounter that sets off a chain reaction of surreal events.
Written and directed by Lee Sang-geun, the drama follows Gil-goo (Ahn Bo-hyun), a guy stuck in a dead-end life with no job or excitement. That is, until Jeong Seon-ji (Im Yoon-ah) moves into his building and turns his life upside down. Gil-goo is completely enamored by her charming personality, thinking she’s just a sweet and innocent girl. But there’s far more to Seon-ji than meets the eye, including a dark secret that could change everything.

The movie trailer teases the chaos that unfolds after Gil-goo has a terrifying vision of Seon-ji catching him off guard. Utterly confused by her dual nature, he is haunted by questions: Is she schizophrenic? Or is she possessed? The closer he gets to the truth, the more bewildering it turns out to be.
Finally, Seon-ji’s father reveals the truth: she’s cursed. Every night at 2 a.m., something sinister overpowers her, turning her into a devil. And worse, she doesn’t remember any of it the next day. So, he asks Gil-goo to be her part-time caretaker and keep an eye on her to make sure that her scary alter ego doesn’t wreak too much havoc. A lovestruck Gil-goo accepts the job, resolving to find a way to break the curse that’s messing with Seon-ji’s life.
Pretty Crazy marks Im Yoon-ah’s comeback film after her previous movie, Confidential Assignment 2: International, in 2022, and Ahn Bo-hyun’s subsequent film in a starring role following his cameo in the movie I, the Executioner last year. The film’s supporting cast includes Sung Dong-il, Joo Hyun-young, and Go Geon-han.
According to a YTN article shared on Naver, Director Lee Sang-geun expressed his enthusiasm about the project, praising the skilled and reliable cast and crew that brought it to life. Im Yoon-ah, who previously collaborated with him on Exit (2019), said that she was glad to team up again, while Ahn Bo-hyun added that he was drawn to the unique scenario and excited to work with Director Lee Sang-geun. As for his screen time with Im Yoon-ah, he revealed “feeling secure” working with her.
