With his US tour scheduled to begin in October, Gurdas Maan recently shared details of his conversations with Shah Rukh Khan. The veteran singer lauded the ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ star’s manners while recalling his collaboration with him. Along with praising Sonu Nigam for treating veteran artistes with dignity, he disclosed how the singer honors the late singer Mohammad Rafi.
During an interview with TV9 Digital, Gurdas shared, “Shah Rukh Khan loves me a lot.We have worked together in Veer Zaara. The way he hugged me was exceptional. He took me to his van and we ate. And then he dropped me until my car. He has good manners. These things only make an actor a star. If you miss these qualities then nobody will ask for you.”
Gurdas Maan stated that Sonu Nigam is an extremely well-mannered musician who pays great respect to his seniors in the industry. Speaking of Nigam, Maan remarked, “Sonu Nigam often visits Mohammad Rafi’s memorial. He has so much respect and love for the artiste. Every year, on his birthday, he visits his memorial and offers flowers.”
Following his apology for “all that happened in the past which unintentionally hurt people’s sentiments,” Gurdas Maan made headlines recently. During an emotional interview in Punjabi with a US-based web channel, Maan expressed, “If my words have hurt anyone’s sentiments, I apologise by holding my ears and folded hands.”
The musician stirred up controversy in 2021 when he asserted that Dera Baba Murad Shah‘s chief, Laddi Shah, is a direct descendant of the third Sikh Guru Amar Dass.
