Google faces new issues with Gemini AI tools
Google has launched the Gemini AI model in various forms but one of its AI tool has become a concern for the wrong reasons.
Google’s AI push with Gemini has hit a big hurdle as major lapses from the technology has forced the company to pause one of its features. Google Gemini AI also has the tool which allows users to generate images using the AI tech and the feature specifically we are talking about is the image generation of people.
Google has admitted to the concerns regarding the AI tool and has decided to pause the feature, with the promise of rolling out an improved version soon.
It all started when Google rolled out the image generation tool for people earlier this month, and people were complaining about inaccurate details in historical images, which is a big red flag for the company and its AI ambitions. Google has towed a cautious line with its advancement in AI, which explains its slower roll out compared to OpenAI’s ChatGPT in the market.
AI models are being trained on existing data, but the technology seems to have lapses in it, which results in situations like these, forcing the company to halt the tool before it creates more issues in the public. AI getting wrong with details about historical figures can invite unwanted attention and scrutiny from the government, who are already looking at ways to regulate and control the push for AI tools at a rapid pace.
Companies are already offering paid versions of their AI tools, which means the technology cannot go rouge, especially for people who are now paying to use these advanced tools.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on when the revised AI tool is released by Google and hopefully, the Gemini AI model is able to address those concerns and deliver accurate results.
