Rajpal Yadav faces criticism for endorsing Diwali firecracker ban

The iconic comedic actor Rajpal Yadav known for his roles, including ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘, recently faced criticism after he posted a video on social media asking people to avoid bursting firecrackers during Diwali to protect animals. While his message appeared to be in support of animal welfare, the video quickly attracted backlash from some users who accused him of hypocrisy. Many pointed out that he has previously been seen endorsing products like chicken and meat biryani in advertisements.
Following Rajpal’s appeal to avoid firecrackers during Diwali for the sake of animal safety, netizens dug up an old advertisement where he spoke about his enjoyment of non-vegetarian dishes. This led to a wave of criticism across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), with users questioning the consistency of his stance on animal welfare. Critics argued that while his message on firecrackers had good intentions, it seemed contradictory in light of his past endorsements of meat-based products.
After facing backlash, Rajpal Yadav posted a video apology and removed his earlier clip. However, the controversy hasn’t settled.
In a recent viral video, Rajpal Yadav was approached by a journalist who asked about his upcoming film. Rajpal, appearing irritated, replied tersely, saying, “Dedh mahine mein ek film dekhne milegi.” When the reporter shifted the topic to Rajpal’s controversial remarks on avoiding firecrackers, which had sparked online debate, the actor’s frustration boiled over. In a moment of anger, he tried to snatch the reporter’s phone, intending to throw it away.
On his work front, Rajpal Yadav is being seen now in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ franchise. The film stars Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri in lead roles.
